“The results are in and the reality of global warming is beyond dispute or debate. It’s not just an environmental issue. It affects ours public health and national security. It’s an urgent matter of survival for everyone on the planet — the most urgent threat facing humanity today. It’s going to take action from you and all of us working together.”

Assignment for April 25

Collecting evidence of what the government is doing to stop global warming

Students work in groups and collect information about what their government is doing to stop global warming. Students will research on government plan and policies in curbing global warming.

Research documents (news reports, links to TV reports, government websites) will be published on the class blog to be shared with other participants.

Dates for Video Conferencing

1st video conference, April 19 (Thursday)

2nd VC, May 10, Thursday

3rd VC, June 21, Thursday

For April 19, some of you will be presenting live. You will show the pictures you shared in bubbleshare with the students from Waseda. You will put the same pictures on powerpoint and you will take turns in explaining how that picture provides evidence that Taiwan is contributing to global warming.

The work you did in bubbleshare should serve as a foundation to help you prepare for your live presentations.

Students do a live presentation of the collected evidence that show how people in their country contribute to global warming.

Note: This presentation should only present the current situation of what people do to heighten the global warming dilemma that affects us all.

GOVERNMENT POLICIES, SOLUTIONS OR ACTIONS TO TAKE WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THE NEXT VIDEO CONFERENCING.

I'll announce in class tomorrow who the presenters will be.
